I've been smoking since I was fifteen. The thought of quitting never crossed my mind until 2007. I'd developed a really serious and persistant cough.I took the usual medication, cough syrup,etc. When I could'nt take anymore I made a GP's appointment. I took the prescribed medication and went bach to work a few days later.My cough refused to go away, so I was sent for an x-ray. When the results came back my specialist informed me that there was a piece of tissue growing in there. To make a long story short, I went for a biopsy and fortunately It was not malignant. But that was the biggest scare of my life. I had two kids that needed me, so I went through the usual route to give up smoking. Patches, gum etc. I'd start the course and follow it for a while but after a matter of days after completing the course, i'd be smoking again. I'd heard about hypnotherapy as an alternative form of treatment, but I never expected to try it. Besides , I was a sceptic. ... (more)
